LANDING GEAR

The landing gear is of tail wheel type with a manual retraction mechanism.
The main gear has an oleo-pneumatic suspension and the tail wheel uses a leaf spring and is swiveling. The wheels are 500 x 5 with hydraulic disc brakes. The brake pedals are located on the cabin floor below the rudder pedals and control each wheel individually. A lever, located on the right side in the FWD cockpit, operates the retraction.
A gas-spring acting on each landing gear leg, counteracts the weight of the gear, thereby assisting the gear retraction. The retraction mechanism can only be operated from the front seat.
The wheel pants are divided in an upper and a lower part. The lower part is suspended by links from the landing gear leg and serve as a mud protector when the gear is extended. The wheel pants are P.U. foam filled with cut-outs to make room for the landing gear components when the gear is retracted. The wheel pants also serve as stabilization floats and are submerged to 70% when the fully loaded LN-3 floats on water. All landing gear parts are made of corrosion resistant material.
